FORT LAUDERDALE-Active Interest Media's (AIM) Marine Group held their Editors' Choice Awards on Friday night at the Tranquilo Hotel during the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. Everglades Boats 255cc model took home the award for Best Fish Boat under 30' - an award granted by the editors of the AIM Marine Group magazines which include, Power & Motoryacht, Sail, Soundings, Yachts International, PassageMaker, Soundings Trade Only, and BoatQuest.com.
Winning boats were honored for their innovation across five categories: Best Motoryacht, Best Passagemaker, Best Fish Boat, Best Multihull, and Best Down East Cruiser. Each boat that was included was reviewed extensively by either an editor or a writer of the magazines. As one of only 26 awards given out on Friday, Everglades' 255cc was chosen based on its intelligent design and its performance in rough water in an effort to educate serious boaters with what's become available in the past year.
Bob Dougherty, Founder, CEO (and lead designer) of Everglades Boats said, "We were excited to take home the award for Best Fish Boat - no boat leaves our factory unable to fish. The 255 is a tough boat - it can handle the elements. We work hard to be innovators in our field, and I think that shows with the 255."
The award is the latest in a string of awards won by Everglades since the company was founded by Bob Dougherty and his son, Stephen in 1999. Their patented RAMCAP hull design process sets the brand apart. Everglades continues to make well built, inventive designs - we can't wait to see what they come up with next.
Bob Dougherty and his family started Everglades Boats after a lifetime on the water and a 30-year career with Boston Whaler. The brand has transformed the boating industry with their unconventional yet intelligent approach to design.
